Power Planning and Monitoring Company
Power Planning and Monitoring Company (PPMC) serves as policy, strategic & technical arm of Ministry of Energy (power Division) on, designing and development of Electricity Plan, carrying out simulations, studies, scenarios, economic analysis for sectorial support on policy directives/ Interventions envisaged in National Electricity Plan, such as development of R&D frameworks, localization measures through development of indigenization frameworks, carry out environment analysis/ scenarios for the power, risk assessment (emerging & familiar), strategic collaboration with international and local universities and research institutions.
Key Strategic Focus Areas
Key Strategic Focus Areas, includes, establishment of NE-Plan monitoring, development of institutionalization strategy of Integrated Energy Planning, establishment of Strategic Risk Management Unit (SRMU), establishment of Research & Development (R&D), climate financing, including leveraging carbon emission benefits from renewable energy transitions.
PPMC as designate entity under NE-Plan
As required under the National Electricity Policy 2021, the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) has nominated PPMC as designate an entity to perform the functions envisaged in the priority areas delineated under the NE-Plan 2023-2027.
